"Wits' End Corner"

I try to read a devotion each morning before my day gets started. In the past few weeks I have reread this particular day over and over! It was SO encouraging that I thought you'd like to be encouraged too!! If you have ever been, or are in a spot in your life (like I am now) were you are just discouraged, or can't see the light at the end of your tunnel, or at your  WITS END,then PLEASE allow God to encourage you throw this devotion (it is long, but well worth the read!)!!

They were at their wits' end. Then they cried out to the Lord in their trouble, and He brought them out of their distress. (Psalms 107:27-28)

Are you standing at "Wits' End Corner,"
  Christian, with troubled brow?
Are you thinking of what is before you,
And all you are bearing now?
Does all the world seem against you,
And you in the battle alone?
Remember- at "Wits' End Corner"
Is just where God's power is shown.

Are you standing at "Wits' End Corner"
  Blinded with wearying pain,
Felling you cannot endure it,
  You cannot bear the strain,
Bruised through the constant suffering,
  Dizzy and dazed, and numb?
Remember-at "Wits' End Corner"
Is where Jesus loves to come.

Are you standing at "Wits' End Corner"?
  Your work before you spread,
All lying begun, unfinished,
And pressing on heart and head,
Longing for strength to do it,
  Stretching out trembling hands?
Remember-at "Wits' End Corner"
  The Burden-Bearer stands.

Are you standing at "Wits' End Corner"?
Then you're just in the Very spot
To learn the wondrous resources
Of Him who fails you not:
No doubt to a brighter pathway
Your footsteps will soon be moved,
But only at "Wits' End Corner"
Is the "God who is able" proved.

Do not get discouraged- it may be the last key on the ring that opens the door.

Ok..I think that I need some lessons on how to work this Blog site!! I seriously can't figure out how to post pictures and other things!! I have tried, really I have! LOL!! If you have any advise for me I would greatly appreciate it, I just can't seem to find the instructions on how to learn to do these things! Maybe I'm more computer illiterate then I thought I was LOL!!

Well anyway, until I figure it out, I have put some pics of my family (which I have been wanting to do, but can't figure out how to get them in the center of the blog page) for you to see. Have a wonderful week friends, and be Blessed!!

It has certainly been awhile since I last wrote anything on here! Well things haven't changed much in the Allen world, we are just trucking along and trying to stay positive :) I must say that I am extremely glad that Spring is here, as most Minnesotan's are! There is just something about the flowers that makes me happy. When I walk through the greenhouse and see all of those gorgeous flowers in full bloom, it reminds me of being home is Florida again! I hope that YOU too are enjoying the beautiful flowers :)

Out with the Old and in with the New!!!

Well with 2008 behind us and 2009 before us, I pray that this new year will bring fresh beginnings for my family. Cliff (my husband) has been laid off since april 2008 (with the exception of a 2 1/2 month contract job that just ended on the 31st of Dec). He now is, in his own words "working for the state again" Ha Ha, but it's really not funny :) So our hope is that the economy will not only improve, but that a new opportunity for a good job will also be in store for him.
A lot of times when we are walking through the fire we ask ourselves why?!? I have asked this question to God many times, and still don't know the answer! Especially now that this contract job didn't develop into the full time position that it was possibly going too. For the past week, I have been crying/praying and seeking God for the answer to why He has allowed us to be back at this place again!!! Its really hard not to dispare! But in the midst of it ALL, I KNOW that God DOES have something GOOD in store for us, and that God sees us, and wants to encourage me/us in this storm. Its only a matter of me allowing Him to do so!!
I hope that 2009 will be a banner year for me in my personal walk with the Lord, my marriage, our finances and God just blessing my family ( this may sound funny, but I feel that we are long over due for a good year)!!
May you and your family be Blessed this upcoming year as well!!

Corey :)

Thankfunlness!

November is a time for thankfulness! This year I feel year I feel very thankful for many things! I'm thankful for my families health, a job for my husband (he was laid off for 5 1/2 months this year) for family to celebrate the Holiday's with (my Mom is visiting from Fl.) these are just a few that quickly came to mind. So often it is easy to take for granted the everyday things in our lives. I think that as Christians, we are challenged to not focus on the material things that so easily distract us from the simple things that are right in front of us!! For many years I struggled with materialism, and after many years of praying for God to deliver me from that, a couple of years ago He did!! My life has been so much more fulfilling, now that I can appreciate the things that REALLY matter ( Jesus,my kids, being content with what I have ect) instead of feeling that I NEED to buy something to fill that void!! Jesus has been So faithful to me and my family, and I will Forever be thankful to Him :) God Bless!
